Luxury department store group Harvey Nichols has names David Aquilina as its new head of menswear.

Aquilina was previously buying manager at footwear group Kurt Geiger and international buyer for Hong Kong luxury department store Lane Crawford; he has also consulted for Harrods.

He replaces Darren Skey who left the business after eight years to pursue new opportunities and will report to group fashion director Anita Barr, who said she was "delighted" Aquilina was joining at an exciting time for menswear and the Harvey Nichols brand.

Harvey Nichols unveiled a revamped menswear department at its flagship Knightsbridge store last year, as well as a number of other improvements such as new beauty and accessories destinations.

Aquilina will manage the menswear for all of the group's eight stores in the UK and Ireland.
