Harrods to open Westfield London outlet store

Harrods is to open a new store in Westfield London to handle its summer sale, as part of efforts to ease the pressure caused by excess stock on the Knightsbridge store.

The new two floor store will open in July and will stock a selection of items from fashion, beauty, accessories and home departments. These will be selected from the Harrods Sale which will also be hosted online.

The concept store will occupy a premium space, creating a unique luxury shopping experience for visitors to the West London destination.

The luxury retailer will reopen its flagship store on June 15, three months after the site was forced to shut for the first time in its 170-year history during the lockdown.

The second store will help to prevent overcrowding when the summer sale kicks off, as well as provide extra space to the limited stock room in the Knightsbridge store.

Harrods Outlet allows the business to adapt to changed circumstances and grow in undoubtedly challenging times for the economy.

It said: ”The concept store has been designed to support higher levels of social distancing by allowing more space for customers, enabling a wider product selection of new-season product in the Knightsbridge store, as well as supporting the business in retailing existing stock in a responsible and sustainable way.”

Whilst we redesign the flow and layout of our centres to adapt to new guidelines for their reopening on 15 June, creating a two story luxury store that responds specifically to the changes we face is a very exciting concept for us.

Westfield has announced it has robust plans in place for the full re-opening of its Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City shopping centres when lockdown restrictions are potentially relaxed in June.
