Harrods appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Luxury London department store Harrods has announced the appointment of Tim Parker as Chief Financial Officer.

Parker joins the business following 10 years at Jardin Matheson, where he held a range of senior Finance leadership positions across Hong Kong and Malaysia for the diversified Asia-focussed group.

He joins Harrods as it continues its recovery from two difficult trading years caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting lockdowns. Despite trading difficulties, the business is continuing to invest in its in-store and online operations, including opening of new divisions and expanding its plans for H Beauty stores across the UK and an increased presence in China and the Middle East.

Michael Ward, Managing Director at Harrods, commented: “As we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and look towards the future, it is more important than ever to have the right talent in place to guide us through the next stage of our business strategy. We are delighted to welcome Tim to Harrods. I know the business will gain hugely from his leadership and extensive experience in a fast-moving market, and I look forward to working closely with him.

Last week, Harrods confirmed it will no longer sell "luxury goods" worth more than £300 to Russian customers, as the company seeks to comply with sanctions introduced by the Government over Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
