Harris Reed unveils "Fluid Basics" loungewear collection

British American designer Harris Reed has brought his gender fluid and evocative red carpet aesthetic into loungewear with the launch of a new loungewear label, Fluid Basics.

The collection embodies the eponymous brand ethos of inclusivity and fluidity with an offering of seven wardrobe staples including tanks and t-shirts reimagined with label placements inspired by vintage corsets in chocolate brown, black and white.

Standout pieces from the collection include a blazer with 70’s-inspired lapels and wrap-tie waist belts, while signature Harris Reed flares are given a jersey rework for a laid back take on suiting.

Harris Reed, GQ's 2021 breakthrough designer, said in statement: "I wanted to open up the world of Harris Reed, by making a more accessible and wearable collection, for those who want to live out their fluid fantasy every day. I reimagined wardrobe staples, and created something totally new and authentically Harris Reed. Creating Fluid Basics helps further my message; fighting for the beauty of fluidity."

The Central Saint Martins graduate rose to acclaim during his early years of education, impressing stylist Harry Lambert with his voluminous demi-couture creations. The designer interned at Gucci under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele and counts Harry Styles, Solange Knowles and Iman, who he dressed for the Met Gala among his clients.

Reed also has collaborations with MAC, Missoma and Oxfam, which saw him upcycle the British charity’s extensive second-hand bridal stock.

The Fluid basics collection will be launching with Matchesfashion, Bergdorf Goodman, and Le Bon Marché in December.
