Glossier has partnered up with eight of America’s top female basketball players on a body positive campaign, to promote its new additions joining the Body Hero Line.
The new additions joining the brand’s body care line include the Body Hero Exfoliating Bar and Body Hero Dry-Touch Oil Mist.
As part of the Body Hero campaign to promote these new products, Glossier tapped a handful of top female WNBA players dubbed “The Body Heroes of the WNBA” to appear in photos and videos.
The Body Hero campaign features Seattle Storm’s Sue Bird, LA Sparks’ Seimone Augustus, Minnesota Lynx’s Lexie Brown, Atlanta Dream’s Kalani Brown, New York Liberty’s Amanda Zahui B, Indiana Fever’s Natalie Achonwa as well as Chicago Sky’s Stefanie Dolson, and Gabby Williams.
The campaign images and videos were entirely self-shot by the players living inside the WNBA “Wubble” during the Covid-19 lockdown.
SVP of Marketing of Glossier, Ali Weiss said: “We’ve also found Body Heroes in a group of women who have used their voices and bodies to drive change in their sport and in the world: the women of the WNBA.
“They’re a community with a long history of championing equality and challenging the status quo, and watching them lead by example on and off the court in 2020 has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.”
As part of the campaign, Glossier has also produced a series of intimate portraits of the brand’s consumers.
Weiss added: “Our mission to give voice through beauty has always been rooted in a belief that the power of beauty goes far beyond products or aesthetics – it is a means of connection, a conduit for personal narrative, and an expression of self-identity.”
“This campaign is the perfect reminder of that mission, and we can’t wait to share it, and the stories of these incredible Body Heroes, with you.”
