Givenchy taps former Etro Creative Director as Head of Leather Goods Design
Givenchy has appointed Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo as Head of Leather Goods Design to work under the luxury brand’s British Creative Director, Sarah Burton.
De Vincenzo stepped down from his role as Creative Director of Etro in March, following nearly four years in the role, which included putting his creative powers into the brand’s accessories category. He had also previously worked as a consultant for Fendi on its leather goods offering.
He will now focus on accelerating the development of LVMH-owned Givenchy’s leather goods category as the brand continues its creative reset under Burton’s leadership.
Burton joined Givenchy in September 2024, tasked with instilling a new vision for the brand following years of creative transitions. Her first Givenchy collections were shown in March 2025.
Burton had previously been with Alexander McQueen - owned by LVMH rival Kering - for 26 years, initially working alongside its founder Lee Alexander McQueen and then taking over the creative direction after McQueen's untimely death in 2010. She left the House of McQueen in 2023.
De Vincenzo’s appointment marks another pivotal moment for Givenchy as it continues to establish a stylistic identity that sets it apart from its competitors.
Earlier this year, Givenchy introduced its first new handbag since Burton took the creative reins, called “The Snatch”, as well as updated versions of its popular “Antigona” and “Voyou” bag styles.
