Garage arrives in the UK with new e-commerce launch ahead of London store opening
Cult Canadian activewear, athleisure and denim brand Garage has just launched a UK e-commerce website, described as a “major milestone”, as it prepares to open stores on London’s Oxford Street and at Bluewater shopping centre this spring.
Known for its elevated off-duty essentials and cult following among Gen-Z across the US and Canada, the UK site (garageclothing.co.uk) now gives customers nationwide access for the first time, with shipping available across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Andrew Lutfy, CEO of Garage, said: "This is something we’ve been working toward for a long time. We already see strong interest from the UK, and launching e-commerce is an important first step in building a real connection with customers here. It gives people immediate access to the brand, and it sets the foundation for what’s coming next."
Considered as one of the hottest brands among young women shaping style and culture from New York to Los Angeles, Garage has built a reputation for monthly drops that consistently sell out and drive strong community engagement across social and culture.
The online launch brings together Garage’s latest collections alongside campaigns that capture the brand's unmistakable energy – “confident, bold, and always on the move”.
Founded in 1975 in Montreal, Garage made a name for itself on North American soil during the 1990s and 2000s. In its heyday, the retailer was known for its ‘grungey’ denim, cropped hoodies and laid-back streetwear, embodying the carefree attitude of mall culture and MTV-era cool.
Today, that influence is being reimagined for a generation that finds the same thrill in low-rise jeans, baby tees, slinky camis and rhinestone accents – all with plenty of early 2000s revival energy.
Now, as it crosses ‘the pond’ for the first time, Garage is stepping into a competitive UK high street landscape, setting its sights on the same Gen Z shoppers who frequent brands like Bershka, Pull&Bear and Urban Outfitters.
