Gap UK completes migration to NEXT Total platform and reveals new shop-in-shop locations

Gap has completed the integration of its UK online business into the NEXT Total platform and has revealed that its next tranche of shop in shops within branches of NEXT will open in Manchester, Birmingham and Lakeside.

The move follows the agreement of a joint venture between British high street giant NEXT and Gap Inc in the UK and Republic of Ireland. In the first phase of the joint venture a shop-in-shop was unveiled at NEXT's Oxford Street store in March of this year.

Now that the integration is complete, customers using Gap.co.uk will be able to access the brand's full product assortment but also benefit from a range of services, powered by NEXT, such as a comprehensive Click & Collect service, free returns to NEXT's 450 stores, next-day home delivery for £4.50 and free next-day delivery to NEXT or Gap stores.

In addition five further Gap-branded shop-in-shops are set to open in NEXT locations, including Lakeside in August, Birmingham mid-September and Manchester towards the end of 2022.

"Combined with its inherent modern American optimism and a focus on quality, responsibly-made products, Gap continues to present a truly unique proposition on the UK high street. The new website will enable us to connect further with our customers across all of our digital channels, with a real focus on our brand values and engaging product content,” commented Jon Jeffery, Managing Director of the joint venture.

“We are excited to deepen our relationship with NEXT to better serve our customers in the UK and Ireland,” added Adrienne Gernand, Managing Director of International, Global Licensing and Wholesale at Gap Inc. “The launch of Gap online through NEXT Total Platform coupled with our plan to grow the business through NEXT retail locations will unlock great potential to deliver the best possible omni-channel service and experience in order to meet our customers’ needs and build loyalty in the market.”

NEXT and Gap Inc formalised their joint venture in September 2021 following the US clothing giant's decision to pull out of directly operated retail stores and e-commerce in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
