Gap to offer discounts of up to 60% when reopening

Fashion giant, Gap has announced it will be reopening all of its UK stores with discounts of up to 60 per cent on sale items and up to 40 per cent off on full-priced items.

81 Gap stores will open on June 15 according to government guidelines on lockdown restrictions being eased for non-essential retailers.

Similar to other retailers, Gap will be placing health and safety measures for all its employees and customers across its reopened stores.

The retailer's decisions to implement a discounting plan follows research which found that French Connection was amongst the largest discounters during the lockdown period.

The coronavirus outbreak has meant many retailers have had to seek new avenues to drive sales online whilst stores have remained closed during lockdown periods.
