Gap announced last week at Paris Fashion Week Men’s that it is teaming up with Telfar for a collaboration, targeted towards Gen Z.

Telfar shared the news in an Instagram post yesterday, with a graphic that’s a hybrid of the two iconic logos. The announcement was celebrated at Gap’s multi-level store, which was turned into an after-hours club.

Contemporary brand Telfar's style is a huge contrast when compared to Gap, with that reason being cited as exactly why both brands are coming together to create a special collection.

A press release from both companies stated that they are the perfect partners to co-create a collection. "With a shared philosophy of accessibility, democracy and a wardrobe rooted in universal basics and affordable garments that can be worn in unique ways, that inspires freedom of expression and drives positive change."

John Caruso, Gap VP of Adult Design, said: "Gap is an iconic American brand with a rich history rooted in embracing diversity and promoting creativity and innovation, and the Telfar brand is built on these same principles. From the moment we began talking with Telfar about the collaboration, we were captivated by his vision and the parallels between the brands, and we are excited to unveil a partnership built on these shared values."

Telfar was founded in 2005 by Teflar Clemens, who has become the poster child for inclusive fashion. In 2017, he nabbed a the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and his show has become a hotly anticipated event on the fashion week calendar.

Further details on the collaboration will be announced in the coming months.
