Gap is sharpening its holiday retail strategy with a collaboration designed to drive seasonal sales and deepen lifestyle engagement, teaming up with cult-favourite beauty brand Summer Fridays on the brand’s first-ever apparel collection.

Launching 12 December in the US and 13 December in the UK, the 20-piece Gap x Summer Fridays range blends Gap’s classic comfort with Summer Fridays’ minimalist Southern California aesthetic, offering cosy knits, matching pyjamas and gift-ready accessories positioned firmly around self-care and staying in.

"Gap and Summer Fridays are built on the same idea – that products designed to make you feel good and bring comfort and joy never go out of style," said Mark Breitbard, President and CEO of Gap.

The collection arrives in Summer Fridays’ signature tones - Pink Sugar, Cherry, Vanilla and Jet Lag Mask blue -reimagined through Gap’s quintessential silhouettes to appeal to Gen Z and Millennial shoppers.

For Summer Fridays, the collaboration marks a strategic stretch beyond beauty. "There’s such a natural synergy between Gap and Summer Fridays - we both believe in creating easy, timeless essentials for everyday life," said co-founder Marianna Hewitt.

Lauren Ireland, fellow co-founder, added that the capsule "merges fashion and beauty in an unexpected yet familiar way," tapping into shared rituals around comfort, routine and daily ease.

The campaign, starring actor and model Barbie Ferreira, further leans into lifestyle storytelling, capturing the ritual of "getting ready to stay in".

For Gap, the partnership is expected to support holiday footfall and digital traffic across Gap.com, Gap.co.uk and 55 select stores in the US and Canada, along with its key international markets including the Middle East, Peru, Turkey and the UK. UK shoppers will see a 13-piece edit.

This collaboration also lands at a pivotal moment in Gap’s wider retail resurgence. The brand is re-establishing its physical footprint in the UK with new standalone stores in Covent Garden, White City and Wembley, operated through its joint venture with NEXT Plc.
