Gap launches Outlet category on UK and EU sites

Apparel retailer Gap has unveiled an additional category on its UK and EU e-commerce sites, offering a selection of discounted Gap goods under its outlet category.

Items from the womenswear, menswear, kidswear, toddler and baby collections are labeled 'Everyday lower price', with prices reflecting reduced outlet rates.

The launch follows Gap Inc.’s announcement, back in July, stating it will be closing all company-operated Gap Specialty and Gap Outlet stores  in the UK and offloading parts of its operations throughout Europe to focus on its digital sales.

British clothing retailer Next announced in September a joint venture to operate Gap’s e-commerce business across the Next Total Platform, host Gap-branded shop-in-shop concessions at select retail locations and offer click-and-collect for online customers starting early 2022.

The deal allows them to piggyback off Next’s own e-commerce expertise and run the business in the UK and Ireland as a franchise partner.
