Preppy lifestyle brand GANT has taken the next step to a more sustainable future by signing up to the Fashion Pact coalition, founded by French president Emmanuel Macron during the G7 Summit in France in August 2019.

It means the brand has committed to join forces with other leading fashion companies to take action within three main areas; climate, biodiversity and oceans.

GANT CEO, Brian Grevy, says: “It was a natural decision for GANT to join the Fashion Pact. As a united front, we can work towards mutual goals and transform the business to improve the impact we have on the environment. Staying together makes us stronger, and our possibilities to make good changes greater.”

To date, 56 stakeholders and leaders within the fashion industry have signed the Fashion Pact, whose creation was led by luxury conglomerate Kering at the request of President Macron. Companies that have joined include Nike, Burberry, Prada, Chanel and Alexander McQueen.

It was reported last week that Grevy was set to depart from GANT to return to Adidas, where he worked for 12 years before joining GANT in 2016.
