Ganni introduces new "low-impact" Software line

09 October 2020

Ganni, the contemporary Danish brand, has today launched the first of two drops of its new "low-impact" Software collection, comprising off-duty leisure wear made entirely from recycled materials.

The aim with Software was to create responsible and traceable styles made from certified recycled materials that strike a balance between form and function. The result is a never-out-of-stock collection consisting of 11 different styles in multiple colourways.

"Evergreen" classics, such as grey and black, will be complemented throughout the season with trend-led colour options such as lilac and hazel. A second drop of the collection will come later this autumn.

In a new achievement, GANNI has said it is one step closer to fully mapping the impacts of the collection along its supply chain - with 75% of the GANNI Software supply chain being traceable on stages 1-3.

The 4 Stages of the supply chain are: 1) garment manufacturing: stitching, assembly & knitting units; 2) handling units: dyers, printers, laundry, tanneries; 3) fabric mills & yarn mills; 4) raw material/source.

GANNI Software is made in Greece and uses innovative recycled, and responsibly sourced yarn - a certified recycled blend by EcoLife®. EcoLife® is made from 50% Post-consumer2 Recycled Polyester, such as PET plastic bottles, and 50% Pre-Consumer3 Recycled Cotton. The recycled cotton comes from end-of-line scraps from manufacturing that would otherwise be considered as waste.

The brand's creative director Ditte Reffstrup said: “I’m so excited to launch GANNI Software. We wanted to create something off-duty that felt fun and effortless, but above all responsible. We ended up with a soft and super responsible line.

"It’s been a real learning curve, with lots of challenges along the way, but we’re super proud to have worked with fabrics made of recycled materials - a mix of pre and post consumer cotton and polyester. We’re also really proud to have reached 75% traceability in stages 1-3 of the supply chain across this collection – but our goal is to reach 100% traceability in the future.”

The range is available at Ganni stores and Ganni.com with prices starting at £65 for a t-shirt and moving up to £165 for a hoodie.
