French Connection opens new outlet store amid fashion comeback

French Connection is continuing its retail expansion with the opening of a new outlet store at Caledonia Park in Scotland, furthering the brand’s strategic return to the outlet market.

The 2,200 sq ft space, which will open this Saturday 26 April, will feature a curated selection of French Connection’s womenswear and accessories from co-ords to seasonal outerwear. Designed with a minimalist aesthetic, the store reflects the brand’s modern, timeless DNA.

Simon Donoghue, Head of Retail at French Connection, said: "Our new store at Caledonia Park will be a welcome addition to our outlet portfolio as we drive forward our expansion strategy this year. We look forward to joining a destination that features such a strong lineup of aspirational brands with a far-reaching catchment."

The new French Connection store will join Caledonia Park's line-up that includes POLO Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade New York and Calvin Klein.

This follows a record year for the retail park, owned and managed by Railpen. In 2024, the outlet village's sales were up by 10%. Meanwhile, it introduced seven new brands and several long-term lease renewals. For example, in October 2024, Under Armour opened a 3,465 sq ft store at Caledonia Park, its largest outlet store in Scotland to date.

Maria Averkina, Asset & Development Manager at Railpen, added: "Womenswear is an important category within our destination and one which we are always looking to enhance and evolve, with French Connection adding to our dynamic tenant mix. The brand has achieved significant success since re-entering the outlet market in 2023."
