French Connection moves into activewear with FIT

French Connection has moved into the growing activewear space with a new collection called FIT, which will launch tomorrow (24 February) online and at exclusive pop-ups in Selfridges London and Birmingham.

Priced at between £25 and £75, the range includes five categories Seamless, Core Comfort, Sweat, Super Soft and Fit Accessories and has been designed for activities including yoga, barre, spinning and running. Its fashion edge will also position it firmly in the "athleisure" category.

FIT has employed technical and breathable fabrics on a range of items including a packable running jacket, zip-through shirt, sports tops and leggings.

Selfridges has made a big play for the activewear and athleisure space and last year unveiled its Body Studio on the third floor of its Oxford Street flagship. The 37,000 sq ft space, which also houses intimates, swim, sleepwear, holidaywear, hosiery and loungewear, stocks sports and sports-inspired labels such as Adidas by Stella McCartney, Ivy Park and Sweaty Betty.
