Freemans Grattan Holdings, the UK division of the Otto Group, has announced its first designer partnership with British designer Julien Macdonald.

Under the terms of the three-year deal Macdonald will create a range of contemporary womenswear, accessories and homewares for Freemans, which will launch next Spring.

A curated edit will also be made available on the group’s Kaleidoscope and Curvissa sites and selected Otto sites in Germany.

Speaking about the deal the Welsh designer, who was one of a wave of fresh British design talent to break into fashion in the 90s, said: “I’m very excited to be launching my new line with Freemans. My womenswear and accessories ranges are designed to make women everywhere feel fabulous and my new homeware range will add a touch of glamour and elegance to any home.”

Macdonald is known for his glamorous designs and has dressed some of the world's most famous women, including Kylie Minogue, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Heidi Klum. He has also made a name for himself as television personality appearing as a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model and as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

The partnership is part of a strategic move for home shopping group, Freemans Grattan, which says it plans to work alongside the fashion industry to develop further exclusive partnerships with top designers, leading influencers and "coveted" brands over the coming years.

Freemans CEO Ann Steer said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Julien on this new collection which confirms our commitment to our customers to bring them exclusive brands with differentiated product that we know they will love.”
