Free People to relocate London flagship and open first store in Scotland
US women’s fashion brand Free People will relocate its Regent Street flagship to a new location a short walk away on Argyll Street in London’s Soho, targeting a spring 2026 opening.
The Regent Street store will continue trading up to and including Christmas Eve, 24 December, before preparations begin for the move to the new “elevated retail experience” in the heart of the West End.
Free People, which is owned by Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN) and is based in Philadelphia, is also planning to open a new store in Edinburgh in January 2026 – its first ever store in Scotland.
Chris Worthington, Managing Director of International at Free People, said: “The UK is the cornerstone of our international growth strategy, and we are thrilled with the response from our British customer base.
“As we evolve our physical footprint, our focus is increasingly on finding unique locations that allow us to immerse our customers in the Free People brand experience.
“We’re prioritising locations that give us the creative flexibility to design compelling, distinct zones that allow us to tell our complete brand story in a more dynamic and expansive way.”
As well as the current Regent Street flagship, Free People has five other London stores; on Floral Street in Covent Garden, in Duke of York Square on the King’s Road, on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, on Hampstead High Street in North London and on George Street in Richmond.
