Frasers Group and M&S among big names interested in TM Lewin

Frasers Group, Marks & Spencer, Crew Clothing and Charles Tyrwhitt are all looking into acquiring TM Lewin after the business fell into administration this month, according to The Times.

The companies have all taken an interest in TM Lewin and are reportedly seeking further information about the brand's financial performance from administrators at Interpath.

Founded in 1898, TM Lewin is a century-old shirt maker with a focus on craftsmanship, timeless style, quality and service.

Prior to the pandemic the business had grown into a successful multi-channel business with more than 150 stores worldwide under the ownership of private equity house Bain. However Bain offloaded the business to Torque Brands, an investment vehicle established by SCP Private Equity, in April 2020 just after the pandemic struck.

The brand fell into administration this month for the second time in two years after an attempt to revive the British formal shirt and tailoring brand as an online-only entity failed.
