Frasers Group adds York and East Midlands to growing designer outlet portfolio
Frasers Group has today announced the acquisition of York Designer Outlet and East Midlands Designer Outlet, as it expands its UK retail footprint further following a raft of outlet acquisitions over the past two years.
York Designer Outlet, located just outside York city centre, covers 250,000 sq ft and is home to 120 leading UK and international brands, welcoming around 4.3 million visitors annually.
Meanwhile, East Midlands Designer Outlet spans 170,000 sq ft, positioned near the M1 motorway, offering over 65 designer brands, with a footfall of approximately 3.5 million a year.
The acquisitions demonstrate Frasers Group’s “continued commitment to the outlet sector”, enhancing the group’s property portfolio mix as it continues to deliver against its ‘Elevation Strategy’.
Michael Murray, Chief Executive Officer at Frasers Group, said: “These strategic acquisitions reinforce our vision, leveraging strong partnerships with leading global brands to unlock mutual value - supporting their outlet strategies while driving growth.
“Today, we own over one-fifth of the UK outlet market and have a clear ambition to grow our share further.”
In December 2025, Frasers Group added Swindon Designer Outlet to its portfolio, which followed hot on the heels of its acquisition of the 1.1 million sq ft Braehead Shopping Centre near Glasgow last November.
These added to the 2024 acquisitions of the Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster, the Overgate Centre in Dundee, The Mall in Luton, Princesshay in Exeter, Fremlin in Maidstone, Kent, and the Olympus Centre retail park in the Quedgeley area of Gloucester.
