Frasers Group has announced that newly appointment board member Anouska Kapur has chosen to step down with immediate effect.

In a statement made on the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday night, the company outlined that the decision had been made "to avoid any actual or perceived conflicts of interest with a third party professional services firm".

Kapur is currently a Partner at the law firm Child and Child.

Kapur was originally appointed to Frasers Group's board in October 2021, with her expertise in real estate cited as "a vital asset to the board" as it continues to invest in the high street as part of its elevation strategy.

Frasers Group added that Kapur's resignation displays its commitment to good corporate governance.

David Daly, Chair of the Board, concluded: "We would like to thank Anouska for her contribution."
