Bespoke tailor English Cut has opened a flagship store on Marylebone's Chiltern Street, having previously been located in the heart of men's tailoring on Savile Row.

English Cut was founded by former Anderson & Sheppard head cutter Thomas Mahon in 2001. The 605 sq ft Marylebone store is its first standalone location and Mahon has signed a five-year lease on the premises with the Portman Estate.

Each English Cut suit is crafted by hand by expert craftsmen, combining traditional methods with contemporary style. Although bespoke remains at the heart of the English Cut offer, the new boutique will also offer a made-to-measure and ready-to-wear collections.

Mahon said the brand's ethos was based on "expertise, authority and authenticity". "[Which is] something I believe resonates with the unique character of Chiltern Street. As one of London’s emerging menswear destination, we are excited to make Chiltern Street our new home in London."

Other menswear brands based in the surrounding area include Trunk Clothiers, Hamilton and Hare, and Sunspel. "We are delighted to welcome English Cut to Chiltern Street. As a heritage brand that champions craftsmanship, style and tradition, English Cut will perfectly complement the existing menswear offer on the street," said Philip Norris, Head of Retail at the Portman Estate.
