The Thomas Pink brand is be set to make a return, as former JD Sports executive Nick Preston has reportedly acquired the brand.

Preston, who has also worked at Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser, has reportedly struck a deal to take control of the business, according to Mail on Sunday.

The deal includes the intellectual property of the brand but not its website or stores.

The shirtmaker officially closed its doors in December 2020, along with its website and social channels.

Later in December 2020, Luxury fashion giant LVMH put the business up for sale, as demand for formalwear continues to fall amid the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent work-from-home phenomenon.

Thomas Pink was rebranded Pink Shirtmaker in 2018 in a bid to reposition it to a more upmarket level.

Thomas Pink Limited was established in London in 1984 by three Irish brothers – James, Peter and John Mullen, and had been a part of LVMH since 1999.

A new website is being prepared to relaunch the label and a company called Thomas Pink Shirtmaker has been registered in the state of Delaware in America.

The British shirtmaker has published a message on its current website, reading: “Don’t fret - we’ll be back soon. We're excited to announce that we’re returning to our roots with the same team that has helped build Thomas Pink Shirtmakers over the years.

“We have some things to iron out and button up, but will be back soon with an improved website to offer you the highest quality English shirting made for modern life that you have come to know and love.”
