Former FatFace CEO Liz Evans, whose departure from the British fashion lifestyle brand was revealed yesterday, will be taking over as managing director of George at ASDA.

Evans has been replaced at FatFace by the business's former CFO Will Crumbie and she will stay with the business until the end of the year for a transition period.

Her move to George had been rumoured for some time and she will succeed Steph Strike, who left George earlier this year.

Mohsin Issa and Zuber Issa, owners of Asda and TDR Capital Ltd, said: “We are delighted to welcome Liz to the Asda leadership team – where she will join a fantastic team of talented leaders of our great business.

"George has a strong heritage in offering amazing quality and value and continues to deliver for customers with both its own ranges and working in partnership with other brands. We are confident that Liz will bring her wealth of expertise to grow the business into the future and compliment the expertise of the fantastic George team, who are so passionate about this brand.”

Before joining FatFace as CEO in March 2019, Evans was CEO at the former Oasis and Warehouse group.
