Former Farfetch exec returns to ASOS as new Audit Chair

ASOS has appointed Jon Kamaluddin as Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of its Audit Committee, marking the return of one of ASOS's early leaders as the company continues its turnaround.

Kamaluddin joins the board on 1 December 2025, bringing heavyweight experience across global retail, technology and finance. He is no stranger to ASOS. He spent nearly a decade at the company during its formative hyper-growth era, first as Finance Director (2004-2009) and later as International Director (2009-2013), where he spearheaded the retailer’s global expansion.

Since leaving ASOS, Kamaluddin has built an extensive portfolio of leadership roles, including Chair of Klarna Bank AB, Chair of Job & Talent,  Senior Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair at Farfetch.

His appointment comes as ASOS continues to reshape its governance structure. With Natasja Laheij taking over as Company Chair today, she will now lead the Nomination Committee, while José Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez joins the committee immediately. Laheij will hand over the Audit Committee to Kamaluddin when he officially joins next month.

Laheij said: "I am delighted that Jon is joining ASOS to lead the Audit Committee following my appointment as Company Chair. Jon brings a depth of relevant industry knowledge and experience across international ecommerce and payments and will be a valuable addition to our Board."

This comes as ASOS's turnaround strategy begins to take shape. Earlier today, the retailer reported another year of falling sales but a sharply improved profit, marking a pivotal moment in its three-year turnaround.

For the 52 weeks to 31 August 2025, revenue dropped 14% to £2.46 billion and GMV fell 12%, yet the online giant delivered a 60% jump in adjusted EBITDA to £132 million and a 370bps uplift in gross margin to 47.1% - its strongest margin in years.
