Former Debenhams Creative Director joins Wax London as Brand Director
Following yesterday’s news that Debenhams’ Creative Director Patrick Duggan has left his role, he has today revealed that he’s now taken up the position of Brand Director at Wax London.
Duggan is already familiar with Wax London, having spent three months working for the brand as a creative consultant – from October to December 2020 - prior to his five-year tenure with Debenhams Group (previously Boohoo Group).
His message on LinkedIn today reads:
"Today marks the beginning of my next adventure as I take up the position of Brand Director at Wax London.
"Having worked briefly with the guys there more than five years ago on a consultancy basis and followed the brand closely ever since, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to now get properly stuck in and build on the great work already done by Roger Wightman (MD of Wax London) and the rest of the team."
Duggan joins Wax London following last week’s news that the brand has signed to open its first standalone store outside of London at Victoria Leeds on 8 October, as it steps up its UK retail roll-out.
In July 2024, Wax London opened its third store in the capital at 45 Neal Street in Covent Garden, adding to its original store at 67 Berwick Street in Soho and its unit at 105a Commercial Street in East London’s Spitalfields. The brand also has a concession shop-in-shop at Fenwick in Newcastle.
In further news last week, Wax London announced that it is expanding in the US market having partnered with a new logistics partner in Columbus, Ohio, which will see the brand be able to ship directly to US customers from within the country for the very first time.
Commenting on the deal, Managing Director of Wax London, Roger Wightman, said: This is a significant moment for the brand in which we’re bringing Wax London closer to our US customer improving our logistics, maintaining our pricing position and broadening our offering.
"The US is a key market for Wax, and we wanted to make sure that we’re providing an exceptional service. This is the next step in our US growth with more exciting opportunities in the pipeline."
The new Ohio facility will mean faster delivery, free returns and free shipping on orders over $100 for American customers. It will also fulfil wholesale and marketplace orders, significantly strengthening the brand’s presence in the US.
