Footasylum's store openings see sales soar with profits up 123%

Footwear and sportswear retailer Footasylum has announced ‘another year of record revenue’ with sales reaching £349.5 million for the financial year ending 25 January 2025.

The Lancashire-based brand said total revenue was up 9.4%. Store sales were up 3% to £172 million, driven by new store openings based on the Oxford Street blueprint.

Online sales increased by 6% to £143.6 million, accounting for 41% of total sales. Underlying EBITDA was up 26% to £28.2 million and operating profit up 123% to £23.3 million.

  • Metro Centre, Gateshead - doubled in size to 12,700 sq.ft, opened in June
  • Union Square, Aberdeen - 7,100 sq.ft store, opened in September
  • Golden Square, Warrington - 5,300 sq.ft store, opened in October
  • Frenchgate, Doncaster - 9,600 sq.ft store, opened in November
  • Parkgate, Rotherham - 6,400 sq.ft store, opened in November
  • Eagles Meadow, Wrexham - 9,600 sq.ft store, opened in November
  • Merry Hill, Dudley - tripled in size to 10,700 sq.ft, opened in November

Looking to FY2026, the company is "confident for another year of growth ahead".

Nick Scott, Footasylum’s Chief Financial Officer, added: "Building on the phenomenal success of FY24, we are delighted to report that FY25 has delivered Footasylum’s best-ever financial performance. We achieved record revenues, profits and cash generation, driven by sales growth in all business channels.

"Our performance was also supported by the success of our creative content channels, which now boast an astonishing 6.7 million followers and generated more than 3 billion organic impressions over the year."

As the company continues to grow, it is bolstering its leadership team. In October 2024, it appointed Will Van Rensburg as its new Chief Commercial Officer. Van Rensburg brings experience from leadership roles at retailers including Clarks, Under Armour, PVH, and Aldi.

Glen Wilkinson also joined Footasylum as Senior Buying Director, bringing over 25 years of industry knowledge, having held senior roles at companies including New Balance, Reebok, and most recently AW LAB.
