Footasylum reopens upgraded Trafford Centre store as expansion accelerates
Footasylum will reopen its upgraded 17,178 sq ft store at the Trafford Centre in Manchester tomorrow, 27 June 2026.
The relaunch follows recent openings at Manchester Arndale, Trinity Leeds and Merthyr Tydfil, as the company continues to add space across the UK under the ownership of Aurelius, which acquired the business in August 2022.

Footasylum said the Trafford Centre site is one of its most valuable retail locations, citing the centre’s footfall, customer mix and positioning as an experiential destination.
The modernised store will create 14 local jobs and will stock third-party brands including Nike, Adidas Originals, ASICS, Saucony and Berghaus, alongside Footasylum-exclusive labels Monterrain and Forena.

The store programme is underpinned by a £35 million Revolving Credit Facility from HSBC UK, secured in October 2024. That facility included a Sustainability Improvement Loan linked to ESG performance and monitored through an EcoVadis rating.
Footasylum said at the time that the funding would support store expansion, omnichannel technology investment, exclusive brand growth and sustainability targets, and has since said it has secured increased funding from the lender.
Shannon Osman, Retail Director at Footasylum, said: "The launch of our newly upgraded Trafford Centre store is another landmark moment for Footasylum in our UK expansion plan, as we invest in high-impact, high-performing locations.
"This is an innovative retail destination that will allow us to deepen our connection with our already highly engaged Manchester audience, while also welcoming new customers who travel from far and wide to experience everything the Trafford Centre has to offer."

The Trafford Centre reopening arrives during a period of change at the top of the business.
Footasylum recently appointed Hannah Mercer as Chief Executive Officer, expanded its warehousing capacity and announced a strategic partnership with Trapstar, the British streetwear brand.
Internationally, the company signed a deal with Apparel Group in December 2025 to open 40 stores across the Gulf Cooperation Council region over five years, representing its first physical retail expansion outside the UK.
