Footasylum Chief Digital Officer departs after 10 years
Footasylum's Chief Digital Officer, Mike Wallwork, has departed from the company after ten years in the role. The footwear retailer has not yet announced a replacement.
Wallwork has also not yet announced his next move, but shared that he was taking time out to recharge and is keeping an open mind regarding what comes next.
He started his career working in various roles at JD Williams, before heading to the footwear retailer Barratts and Daniel Footwear. He then joined Footasylum as Head of E-Commerce in May 2016.
"I’d like to share that after a fantastic ten years at Footasylum, I’ve decided that the time is right for a new challenge," he shared in a LinkedIn post.
"What a journey it has been, massive growth achieved through building first-class, award-winning teams (being part of their growth being my proudest memories) - Digital trading, Omni, Web Dev/UX, IT/digital delivery for the whole business, Data team.
"What started as a family business, then the float followed, a three-year CMA process, new PE ownership... it really has been quite the ride, but so many valuable learnings have been taken from that.
"It’s been emotional, but rewarding and worth every second."
The announcement follows the appointment of Hannah Mercer, former Gymshark Global GM, as Footasylum's new Chief Executive Officer.
