Finisterre to expand UK retail footprint with three new stores this spring
Cornwall-based outdoor brand Finisterre is adding three new stores to its UK retail portfolio this spring, in Cambridge, Cardiff and Poole in Dorset.
The 2,300 sq ft Cambridge store, located at 23-24 Sidney Street, will be the first to open at the end of March, followed by the opening of a 2,100 sq ft store at 27-29 Royal Arcade in Cardiff – the brand’s first store in Wales - in April.
A new 2,500 sq ft store at 8a Parr Street in Poole will then open in May, becoming Finisterre’s second-largest store after its London location at 47-49 Neal Street in Covent Garden, which upsized to 2,702 sq ft in May 2024.
The Poole store will be "a central hub for the South Coast’s watersports and outdoor enthusiasts", offering a wide range of performance wear and eco-conscious products.
The three new openings will mean Finisterre has a total of 14 retail stores across the UK, and the brand is "actively exploring further UK expansion beyond 2025".
Will Sheane, CEO at Finisterre, said: "These three new locations are an important step in Finisterre’s broader retail strategy. Expanding into key cities like Cambridge, Cardiff, and Poole enables us to strengthen our brand presence and connect with a diverse customer base.
"Each store represents a strategic opportunity to grow the Finisterre community while meeting the increasing demand for high quality, functional outdoor wear."
Finisterre was "born from the needs of hardy British surfers" in 2003. Its first product was a fleece designed to keep out chill winds and warm up cold bodies.
From its cliff-top workshop in Cornwall, the brand stays true to its original design ethos of functionality and sustainability "brought to life in an understated style and identity".
