Fenwick to open all stores on 15 June
Fenwick has announced that all nine of its department stores will be open from 15 June with new safety measures in place.
After an intensive cleaning programme, its flagship store on London's Bond Street will be opened along with Brent Cross, Bracknell, Canterbury, Colchester, Kingston (Bentalls), Newcastle, Tunbridge Wells and York.
Customers will be greeted at entrances and guided throughout the stores which have a new one-way system in place; customer numbers will be managed to ensure social distancing can be managed.
A clear path, called the “Fenwick Green Road”, has been established for customers to follow and they will step off the path to browse products. Fitting rooms and beauty services are closed at present.
Lifts will be accessible only for customers in wheelchairs or those with mobility issues who have difficulty using escalators, or for people with buggies.
“With the imminent reopening of our shops, the safety of our colleagues and customers is our absolute priority, and we have been working diligently to make our stores compliant with the guidelines, yet still give our customers a truly Fenwick experience,” said CEO John Edgar, a former Harrods and Selfridges CFO, who joined the company just after lockdown was implemented.
“Premium department stores such as Fenwick are the best place to enjoy shopping in the current situation – as well as the strict safety measure we have put in place, we have ample space, an incredible selection of brands and products all under one roof, and plenty of advisers providing excellent customer service.
“We are ready and prepared to open our physical stores on 15 June and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our customers then.”
Yesterday Selfridges confirmed that its four stores will also be opened from Monday and is promising a "joyful experience" for returning customers.
