Online fashion e-tailer Femme Luxe has announced its partnership with recycling app reGAIN to encourage customers to recycle unwanted clothes. The app allows its users to recycle and donate clothes at local drop points in exchange for digital coupons and has already partnered with a number of fashion brands and retailers including Superdry, Asics, New Balance, boohoo and Missguided, as well as lifestyle brands and experiences including Expedia, Hotels.com, EVE Sleep and BodyBuilding.com.

Bobby Samari, Femme Luxe founder, said: “A huge amount of clothing goes to landfill every year and we want to try to lower these numbers by teaming up with ReGain. We’re aware that we as a nation have a long way to go when it comes to sustainability and environmental issues, however we hope that this is the first small step towards becoming more aware of where our waste goes.

“As a brand, we will be introducing a number of initiatives over the next year towards becoming more sustainable. We are constantly assessing how we can do our part.”

Last month, online fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing announced its partnership with reGAIN to prevent unwanted clothes from heading to the landfill.
