Farfetch launches Emojis to capture new year feelings

Luxury platform Farfetch has launched a series of emojis to help users express typical January feelings.

The iMessage stickers for iOS 10 are centred on three themes "Overshopped", "Health Kick" and "Me Time" and have been created by London-based visual artist Maria Ines Gul. The Royal College of Art Graduate was chosen for the project because "her aesthetic is the perfect combination of fashion, quirkiness and fun", Farfetch said.

Stickers in the series, which also includes three gifs, feature images such as a credit card being chopped in half, a "leaf lady", a cucumber mask and a "burger bomb". More stickers will be added throughout the year to reflect Farfetch's up and coming projects.

The stickers are only available via iMessage (iOS 10) and can be downloaded in the iMessage App Store, as an add-on of the Farfetch app.

Farfetch was founded in 2008 by Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves and brings together some of the world's best luxury boutiques onto one platform. In 2015 it established its Black & White and Store of the Future divisions to "provide key technology and business solutions for brands and retailers to facilitate growth and champion innovation".

Also in 2015 it acquired iconic luxury retailer Browns and last year it secured a Series F round of investment of $110m. A so-called "unicorn" business, it is valued at more than $1bn.
