Farfetch has teamed up with Italian luxury house Gucci to offer a 90-minute “Store to Door” delivery service across 10 global cities.
Farfetch customers will be able to select the Gucci items they want using the Farfetch website or app and have them fulfilled from participating Gucci stores in London, New York, Dubai, Los Angeles, Madrid, Miami, Milan, Paris, Sao Paulo and Tokyo. Orders will be delivered by dedicated Farfetch couriers and any items customers don’t want will be collected by courier the same day.
The news was announced as the luxury platform stages its first ever retail and technology summit, FarfetchOS, in London today where it is also unveiling its highly anticipated Store of the Future omnichannel platform.
Farfetch founder, co-chairman and CEO Jose Neves, said Gucci was “the perfect partner” for the new Store to Door service. “Time is the new luxury and one that we all want more of. At Farfetch we want to give that luxury back to our customers by making as many delivery options available as possible. If you need just the right dress or pair of shoes for dinner that night, we can make sure you have it wherever you are,” he said.
Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzari added: “This service represents the type of new service level that the luxury fashion industry needs to embrace in order to meet the ever-increasing expectation among luxury customers today, for an outstanding level of service that is flexible and seamless across channels and geographical locations.”
Farfetch already offers Express delivery to over 190 countries, Click and Collect in 24 markets and Same Day Delivery in nine cities.
Last year luxury retailer and etailer Matchesfashion.com launched its 90-minute delivery service in London while NET-A-PORTER.com and MR PORTER.com revealed enhanced services for EIP customers last week that include a “You try, we wait” service, allowing customers to try on items and send back anything they don’t want to a waiting courier.
