Former ASOS CEO Nick Beighton is reported to taking up the role of chairman at premium off-price e-commerce marketplace Secret Sales.

The move marks Beighton's return to online retail after he left ASOS last year. According to Sky News, Beighton's appointment coincides with Secret Sales' plans to expand into another 12 international markets over the next two years. It currently operates in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.

In September 2021 the company had already announced that it was making new additions to its leadership team to drive international expansion.

The online platform helps premium brands such as Ted Baker and Gucci sell excess stock. CEO Chris Griffin said in August 2021 that the platform had grown by 4,000% since August 2020 and featured more than 700 brands. In the last 12 months the company reported a growth of 150%.

Beighton left ASOS last autumn, having taken over as CEO of the online fashion giant in 2015 (he had previously been COO), after founder Nick Robertson stood down from the CEO position. ASOS has been conducting a search for Beighton's replacement and is expected to reveal that José Antonio Ramos Calamonte, its chief commercial officer, will take over the top job in the coming weeks. Ramos Calamonte joined ASOS last year from Portuguese fashion business Salsa Jeans.
