Italian fashion house Etro has appointed Marco De Vincenzo as its new new Creative Director from 1 June.

De Vincenzo will be in charge of Etro's women's, men's and home collections and will present his the houses first womenswear collection for spring 2023 in September during Milan Fashion Week.

The children of Etro's Founder, Veronica, Kean and Jacopo, who were previously Creative Directors of the women’s, men’s and home collections, will continue to be involved in the development of the brand’s strategy.

The company added that they will work in partnership with consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton, which took a majority stake in the company in July 2021.

De Vincenzo's appointment comes after a number of new leadership positions were filled, as the company continues to look towards global brand expansion.

Former Dolce and Gabbana Executive Cardinali was hired as Chief Executive in September 2021, with Iacopo Martini as Chief Financial Officer in March 2022.

De Vincenzo launched his eponymous women's ready-to-wear brand in 2009, after collaboration with Fendi for its accessories lines and was described by Etro as an "innovative designer."

Fabrizio Cardinali, Chief Executive Officer at Etro, said: “As part of the brand’s new course, we welcome with enthusiasm the arrival of Marco De Vincenzo. Through his sensitivity for colours, prints and fabrics, we are sure that Marco will be able to translate at best Etro’s extraordinary heritage into new interpretations for the different brand’s collections and also giving a new drive to the world of accessories.”

Etro was founded in 1968 by Gerolamo Etro and currently operates around 171 stores across 22 countries, according to its website.
