Ermanno Scervino scores a fashion goal!

David Watts
31 March 2016

On Monday 21 March, the Italian National Football Team, led by head coach Antonio Conte and the football’s legend Gigi Buffon, lined up at the foot of Michelangelo’s David, at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence, wearing the new made-to-measure uniforms designed by Ermanno Scervino, luxury partner of the Italian National Team. The picture was been shot by Massimo Listri, internationally renowned art photographer.

The David is the most famous sculpture in the world, carved in the early sixteenth century by Michelangelo Buonarroti. The Scervino Maison has its headquarters in the hills of Florence and produces its luxury segment collections in Tuscany. The Italian national soccer team has its home in Coverciano, just outside the Tuscan capital and only a few kilometres from the premises of Ermanno Scervino. And it is at Coverciano that Federcalcio has its Centro Tecnico Federale, where all the national teams train and where the managers, officials and coaches of the future are trained too.

"We are proud and honoured,” declare Ermanno and Toni Scervino, luxury partner of the Italian national soccer team until the World Cup 2018 in Russia “by this original triangulation between Made in Italy excellence. The David is and always will be the highest expression of the beauty of Italian art and it speaks to the world of that 'Florentineness' which is inscribed in the DNA of our Maison, which has always been committed to the enhancement of top craftsmanship. Dressing the Azzurri in our made-to-measure outfits is a precious opportunity to display the tailoring skills of our Maison to the world."
