Sézane

Sézane rebrand unveiled with tighter collections and new look, receives mixed reaction

This week French fashion brand Sézane unveiled its Fall 2026 collection, a defining moment for the brand as it introduced a new visual identity, defined by a more minimalistic style, a tighter edit of pieces and higher-quality fabrics.

"It’s a reflection of me growing up. I feel like I’ve been in school for 20 years, and now I’m ready to actually launch Sézane with awareness and intention," founder of Sézane, Morgane Sézalory, told Vogue.

Over the years, the brand has built a loyal customer base and expanded its product portfolio into childrenswear and homeware, as well as launched a menswear label called Octobre Éditions.

Long-time customers offered a mixed response to the brand's new visual direction. Some Instagram users commented that they missed the colour, florals, gingham and playful details associated with earlier Sézane collections. Others compared the more mature brand direction to the visual look of more elevated brands such as COS, ARKET and Massimo Dutti, known for their minimalist style.

On the other hand, many shoppers welcomed the more restrained brand identity, commenting, “The new collection looks amazing, I’m excited for the change”, while another described the new Fall outfits as “simple and effective”.

The unveiling of the Fall collection only marks the first of future releases, with the brand looking to roll out a new Essentials range on 13 September and a knitwear launch on 27 September.

Personally, I have been a long-time fan of Sézane and its whimsical, fun, French-girl style. While I have pieces I like from the new collection, it does feel very pared down and lacks a bit of freshness for me. On the other hand, I am a big fan of the focus on better-quality fabrics and the focus on leather bags - I have already set my eye on the 100% merino wool sweaters and beautifully tanned cowhide leather bags.

I am excited to see what comes next for the brand and I haven't given up hope that the whimsy will reappear in future pieces.

Topshop

Topshop partners with Cara Delevingne on co-designed capsule

Topshop has reunited with supermodel Cara Delevingne for its first-ever co-designed capsule collection with the global style icon.

The 16-piece collection draws on Delevingne’s long-standing relationship with the retailer - she fronted her first solo Topshop campaign back in 2014 - and the shared aesthetic that has defined their partnership over the years: confident, individual and distinctly modern, with pieces designed to be worn on repeat.

It’s the kind of collaboration that instantly transports you back to those iconic Topshop days, but with a modern lens. It’s also perfectly suited to autumn/winter, with a colour palette spanning black, brown, beige, navy and green.

The latest capsule spans denim staples, including jeans, skirts, dresses and jackets, alongside tailoring and coordinated sets. The result is a collection rooted in the effortless, versatile wardrobe pieces that have become synonymous with both Delevingne and Topshop.

One of the collection’s hero products is a denim pinstripe suit, cut with a broad-shouldered blazer and wide-leg trousers for a modern take on tailoring. Meanwhile, another bold hero piece is a turquoise denim co-ord, pairing a funnel-neck jacket with matching jeans for a statement-making head-to-toe look.

SKIMS

SKIMS poaches Supreme’s creative chief to be first-ever Chief Design Officer

This week saw Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede’s shapewear brand SKIMS appoint Erin Magee as its first-ever Chief Design Officer.

It’s an interesting choice as Magee has most recently served as Chief Creative Officer at Supreme, having spent the last 22 years at the New York streetwear label leading creative vision, design, product development and product strategy across apparel, accessories, collaborations and special projects.

It will be intriguing to see if she now injects more of a streetwear edge into SKIMS, where she will oversee design and creative product direction as the brand continues to expand its global footprint across categories and markets.

Jens Grede, CEO and co-founder of SKIMS said that Magee’s eye for design, deep understanding of product and her instinct for what resonates make her “exactly the right person to lead SKIMS into its next era”.

Meanwhile, SKIMS has also promoted Kim Schraub to Chief Brand Officer. Schraub has been with SKIMS as Creative Director since its inception in 2019, having joined following her time as Brand Director at Yeezy from 2012 to 2019.

The meeting of minds between Schraub and Magee should be one to watch as SKIMS looks to differentiate itself further from the rest in the shapewear, activewear and athleisure space.

Just as the brand has done with its NikeSKIMS collaboration for performance wear, might it now be possible that a streetwear brand collab is on the cards going forward?
