eBay is launching its first ‘Pre-Loved Fashion Week’ in partnership with the British Fashion Council (BFC) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDS) across London and New York.

Celebrating the marketplace’s endless inventory, a live, shoppable runway show, called ‘Endless Runway’, will feature pre-loved looks from designers such as Off-White, Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha and Khaite.

The shows will precede the SS25 official New York and London Fashion Week schedules – followed by daily drops on eBay, with curated pre-loved fashion from top designers.

In London, the marketplace’s show will be curated by eBay UK’s Pre-Loved Style Director Amy Bannerman, and hosted by model and presenter Leomie Anderson, featuring immediately shopable items that celebrate and mark the 40 years of London Fashion week - from Vivienne Westwood to Molly Goddard.

Available exclusively on eBay Live on 12 September 2024 at 6pm, shoppers can purchase the pieces from archival collections and iconic designers as the models make their way down the catwalk.

In New York, the ‘Endless Runway’ will also be showcased during the city’s Fashion Week, with a collection curated and styled by fashion creative Wisdom Kaye and hosted by fashion writer Liana Satenstein.

Kirsty Keoghan, eBay’s GM of Fashion, said: "eBay has been a driving force in promoting more sustainable fashion. With the launch of Pre-Loved Fashion Week, we’re showing up on fashion’s biggest stage and demonstrating that authentic designer fashion doesn’t have to be out of reach.”"

Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, added: "As we celebrate 40 years of London Fashion Week, we are excited to partner with eBay to showcase the incredible British brands and designers that have played such an important part of London Fashion Week over the past four decades.

"The Endless Runway catwalk will bring new life to archival pieces while making fashion week accessible to a wider audience and empowering consumers to prioritise sustainable and circular fashion choices."

Almost $50 billion (£37.8 billion) worth of second-hand luxury products were sold worldwide in 2023, fuelled by younger consumers looking for accessible entry points into the traditionally exclusive luxury market.

On eBay, pre-loved and refurbished makes up 40% of the marketplace’s gross merchandise volume. In June 2024, global eBay users searched for "vintage" over 1,000 times a minute, on average.

The demand for pre-loved has "created a groundswell of support for circular fashion initiatives" and Pre-Loved Fashion Week is setting out to demonstrate how easy it can be to find high quality, authentic pre-loved designer fashion on eBay.
