Dubarry heads to Edinburgh for first store in Scotland

Irish country and sailing lifestyle brand Dubarry is gearing to open a new 1,000 sq ft store at 54 George Street in Edinburgh at the end of September, marking its retail debut in Scotland.

Located within the elegant Assembly Rooms building in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, the store will carry Dubarry’s full AW25 collection of men’s and women’s outerwear, country boots, deck shoes and clothing, as well as leather belts, socks, hats and scarves.

The store will feature signature Dubarry interiors such as wooden panelling, antique furniture and vintage rugs.

Dubarry Marketing Director, Michael Walsh, said: "Dubarry is delighted to have secured a premises in Edinburgh to bring our brand to our loyal local following.

"With our proximity to the rugged West coast of Ireland, we share an understanding of the often challenging weather conditions that can prevail in Scotland and have the right range of products to offer."

Founded in 1937 in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Dubarry has earned acclaim for its expert craftsmanship. The brand broke new ground in the early 1990s when it became the first globally licensed GORE‑TEX leather sailing boot brand, introducing the now iconic ‘Shamrock Sailing Boot’. The innovation then evolved into the ‘Galway Country Boot’, a staple of the brand’s collection to this day.

Already established with retail outlets in London, Cheltenham, and Dublin, Dubarry's expansion into Scotland represents a "strategic and natural progression" to a region where it seeing an increasing demand and growing customer base.

As well as its Irish HQ, Dubarry has subsidiary operations supporting its wholesale and online business, including in Oxford, Utrecht in the Netherlands and Pennsylvania in the US.
