Dries Van Noten creates exclusive collection for Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter
Luxury online marketplaces Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter have announced the launch of an exclusive capsule collection with Belgian designer Dries Van Noten.
The collection includes six exclusive styles at Net-a-Porter and three at Mr Porter, complemented by a curated seasonal selection.
Marking a pivotal moment in Dries Van Noten’s journey towards gender-fluid fashion, this launch also celebrates his legacy as he steps down as Creative Director of his eponymous brand. While the SS25 runway presentation was officially a menswear show, several pieces were worn by women, underscoring Van Noten’s vision of clothing that transcends traditional gender boundaries.
As the exclusive women’s retailer for the collection, Net-a-Porter will offer menswear styles reimagined in bold pinks and smaller sizes. Meanwhile, Mr Porter will showcase the brand’s signature aesthetic—relaxed tailoring, avant-garde prints, and striking colour choices.
Prices range from £155 for a white or black modal tank top, to £2,130 for an oversized, brushed alpaca, cotton and wool blend coat.
As well as commemorating Dries Van Noten’s final runway show after 38 years, the collection also aims to embody his distinctive creative vision. Luxurious fabrics, including matte leathers to sheer textures, meet a dynamic palette ranging from neutrals to vivid hues. Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter’s exclusive edit presents customers with a rare opportunity to own a piece from the designer’s 150th and final collection.
Earlier this year, 65-year-old Dries Van Noten announced he was stepping away from his eponymous label. Finally, the Belgian label shared in December that Julian Klausner had been promoted to Creative Director, following six years as Womenswear Designer for the label and two years as Junior Designer at Maison Margiela.
In a statement made in March, Van Noten, said: "In the early ‘80s, as a young guy from Antwerp, my dream was to have a voice in fashion. Through a journey that brought me to London, Paris and beyond, and with the help of countless supportive people, that dream came true.
"Now I want to shift my focus to all the things I never had the time for. I’m sad, but at the same time happy. I feel it’s time to leave room for a new generation of talents to bring their vision to the brand."
