Dr. Martens x No Signal: On Air join forces for creative collaboration

08 November 2022

Dr. Martens partners with No Signal for its latest collaborative project to showcase six of the UK's grassroots artists who are making waves in the music scene.

The radio show, No Signal, is a product of lockdown, launching in 2019 and quickly gaining a large audience. Creating their own narrative, the hub of creatives breaks from the normalities of radio by spanning across audio, video, and various creative mediums to document their experiences of being black and British.

Along with Dr. Martens, synonymous with counterculture and rebellious spirit, No Signal’s Wavelengths radio show will be championing six emerging black British talents. Hosted by Scully, Wavelengths will commence a three-part weekly show, featuring Arytn, George Riley, BXKS, Scuti, Benga, and Len.

The partnership has been introduced with a campaign film by Creative Director, Kelvin Jones, and stills by Chad McLean. Each artist has been shot styling pieces from Dr. Martens’ Autumn/Winter 2022 collection, which introduces new silhouettes that take inspiration from core styles, such as the classic Combs Tech boot to the new season silhouette Boury boot.

Emerging artist, Len, added: “I wanna shake up the system by waking up the energy in everyone - energy they didn't even know was in them in the first place."

From music industry discussions to showing you how to wear the latest arrivals from DM’s Utility Wear range, each individual talent will bring their own take to the mini-series, which releases its first episode tonight.

Scully, No Signal Wavelength’s host, commented: “The energy between Dr. Martens and No Signal is being able to stand out, stand forward, and say – this is who I am. This is what I do. And this is how I’m gonna do it.”
