British footwear brand Dr Martens has just opened a new 2,000 sq ft store on Paradise Street in Liverpool ONE, upsizing from its previous store on Manesty’s Lane in the shopping centre, and now next to Vans and Levi’s, and opposite JD Sports’ flagship store.

The new store showcases the full Dr Martens range of footwear for men, women and children, as well as the brand’s accessories and collaborative ranges.

The store interior features artwork by local artist Neil Keating, who Dr Martens recently partnered as part of its Liverpool iteration of Dr Martens Presents, an initiative that provides grassroots support to local creatives.

The ongoing platform has also helped Liverpool-based radio station Melodic Distractions to remain on air, and Dr Martens is continuing its support by hosting the station’s new studio launch party and taking over the airways from the Paradise Street store today.

Kenny Wilson, CEO of Dr Martens, said: “Liverpool ONE is the life and soul of the city. It is somewhere we have to be and so our new home on Paradise Street is the perfect step for Dr Martens.  While we may have a different address, our move is a renewal of our commitment to Liverpool ONE and this great city.”

Alison Clegg, Managing Director, Asset Management at landlord Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, added: “Dr Martens is a well established brand in Liverpool ONE, with a loyal following that spans our broad visitor demographic. Their performance has always been strong, so we have worked closely with the team to create a new, larger flagship. The store embodies everything this iconic British brand is known and loved for, and will drive their performance to even higher levels.

Dr Martens upsize is the latest in a series of announced enhancements to Liverpool ONE’s line-up by Grosvenor.

New Look is also relocating to a 20,000 sq ft flagship store (trading off 15,000 sq ft) on South John Street – launching this autumn, and Castore, the Andy Murray-backed sportswear brand, recently signed for a permanent store at the centre following a successful pop-up.
