Independent menswear brand house Douglas & Grahame has appointed Scott Crowson as retail director GB to develop retail opportunities through franchise and concession arrangements across England, Scotland and Wales.

As owner of the independent retail chain Coneys Designerwear in Boston and Lincoln, Crowson has been an established stockist of the company's brands. “I’m confident of the potential which exists in the GB market for Douglas & Grahame’s brands and I’m excited to be part of this expansion strategy,” he said.

Headquartered in Northern Ireland and with a UK sales office in Shenstone (Staffordshire), Douglas & Grahame supplies menswear, boyswear and school uniforms to the independent fashion retail market under the Remus Uomo, Douglas, Wellington, Daniel Graham and 1880 Club brands.

The company already has a proven track record in launching new franchises and concessions through its Remus Uomo brand which, as well as e-commerce, has six well-established franchise stores across the UK and Ireland and a number of concessions within leading independents across Great Britain.

“We’re excited to be taking the next step towards our omni-channel business strategy with Scott, a long-standing business partner of Douglas & Grahame,” said Douglas & Grahame managing director Donald Finlay.

“Our business model has always been about working in partnership with our independent retail customers and we hope to further consolidate that position through Scott’s appointment and in the new opportunities Scott will develop for us,” Finlay added.

Crowson will be working closely with group sales director Andrew Lowden on the development of the expansion programme.
