Dolce & Gabbana appoints former Gucci exec as co-CEO
Dolce & Gabbana has appointed former Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino as its new Co-CEO, effective today. He will be working alongside the newly appointed Chair and Co-CEO Alfonso Dolce.
Cantino joined Gucci as Deputy CEO in May 2024, becoming its Chief Executive Officer between January and September 2025. Prior to this, he spent five years at Louis Vuitton, where he oversaw communications and image, and 20 years at Prada, where his last role was Director of Communications and Marketing.
"I am delighted to have Stefano Cantino by my side in this new phase of growth and development of Dolce & Gabbana," said Alfonso Dolce.
The news follows Dolce & Gabbana's announcement last week that its co-founder Stefano Gabbana had resigned from his role as Chair but would remain in his creative role.
The house confirmed that Gabbana’s decision to step back from a formal leadership role signalled a shift in governance, but not in vision - and that the designer would continue to shape the aesthetic motifs that have defined the Italian luxury fashion house for the last 41 years.
This marks a moment of transition for the Milan-based label, which has in recent years expanded its universe beyond the runway into hospitality, interiors and immersive brand experiences, while continuing to stage its elaborate Alta Moda presentations across Italy’s historic locations.
Indeed, Dolce & Gabbana shared a statement outlining that the appointment of its new Co-CEO follows a "growth path" that will reposition the company from a fashion brand to a lifestyle company.
Founded in Milan in 1985 by Domenico Dolce, Alfonso's brother, and Stefano Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana rose to prominence with a bold and quintessentially Italian vision of glamour.
