Diptyque launches Sloane Street pop-up
Parisian perfumer Diptyque is launching a two-week pop-up store on Sloane Street, paving the way for its new permanent Chelsea store set to launch later this year.
The new UK flagship will come to Sloane Street in October and will be the largest store in the UK, featuring the brand's full catalogue, including items from the decoration collection.
The pop-up store, which will open on 23 May, will be part of the floral art show "Chelsea in Bloom" with Diptyque interpreting this year’s "British Icons" theme with two British classics. The first concept, called "teatime in roses", plays with an iconic muse of the Maison - the rose, while afternoon tea, pays homage to the Tea candle – one of Diptyque’s three original candle creations.
The façade of the store will be adorned with a fresh rose installation, created by local florists, Blooming Haus, with Parisian café seating. Inside vintage tea sets will line the walls, complimenting a bespoke version of Diptyque’s Boscage wallpaper, which is inspired by British founder, Desmond Knox-Leet’s early illustrations.
It’s also a great opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to the local community ahead of our permanent flagship store opening later in the year.
Amanda Morgan, Diptyque
Amanda Morgan, Managing Director UK said “We are very excited to open a pop-up space on Sloane Street for the Chelsea in Bloom occasion, allowing us to showcase our Parisian personality through our iconic floral scents. It’s also a great opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to the local community ahead of our permanent flagship store opening later in the year, which will be an important moment for Diptyque’s brand journey.”
Exclusive animations and personalisation services will be in place across the full two-weeks, with a full programme to be announced soon. The brand has also committed to repurposing the flower installations after the pop-up, to extend the life and enjoyment of the flowers, and will be demonstrating how to give a new lease of life to empty candle jars with its "second life" candle accessories.
The Diptyque’s Chelsea in Bloom pop-up will be open from the 23 May to 5 June 2022, opening Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
