Diesel joins second-hand market with recycled jeans project

Diesel has announced the launch of its new edit of second-hand denim, giving shoppers the chance to keep diesel products in active use for years.

Described by Diesel, the second-hand project aims to offer a creative and inspiring way to take steps towards circularity, with restored and renewed denim garments.

The Diesel collection is stamped with a red "Second Hand" logo across the back, allowing its conscious origin to be celebrated and recognised.

All garments are also sprayed with Viraloff and Odor Crunch. This is a combined anti-microbial and odour-resistant treatment developed by Polygiene, which allows for reduced frequency of laundering during customer use.

The initiative entered a trial phase in summer 2021, with denim buyback programmes at selected Italian stores. To date, 900 pair of jeans have been collected and reconditioned to give them a second life.

The 'Second Hand' collection is available to buy online at Diesel within Europe.
