Diesel CEO Marco Agnolin set to leave

19 March 2019

Italian denim brand Diesel has announced the imminent departure of its CEO, Marco Agnolin, effective March 28, after just over a year with the company.

The brand told WWD that Agnolin will continue to be part of the board, despite stepping down from the CEO role, in order to complete “planned activities.” A successor for Agnolin has not yet been named.

Agnolin joined Diesel in January 2018 after spending seven years with Inditex-owned clothing brand Bershka. Diesel has undergone a number of changes to its leadership team in recent years. In October 2018, Johnny Hewlett left his position as chief executive for Europe after 10 years in the role to join Marc Jacobs, and creative director Nicola Formichetti left at the end of 2017 after five years at the brand.
