Designers at Debenhams is back and Kim Cattrall is leading the charge

Debenhams is dusting off one of its most famous fashion legacies, and it’s doing so with a leading lady who knows a thing or two about stealing a scene. The retailer has confirmed the return of Designers at Debenhams, fronted by none other than iconic actress Kim Cattrall.

Launched in 1993, the Designers at Debenhams concept was retail’s original disruptor. Long before high street collabs became a template, Debenhams was throwing open the doors of luxury to the everyday shopper. It wasn’t just a collection; it was a retail movement, democratising designer fashion while setting the playbook for collabs that followed.

Now, after years of dormancy and a high street in desperate need of some serotonin, the brand is back. For AW25, Ashish takes the wheel, serving up technicolour faux fur, glistening sequin slips and psychedelic prints that blur nostalgia with next-gen street style. It’s maximalism dialled up.

The campaign, directed by Scandebergs, sees multiple Kim Cattralls stepping out of a void in a kaleidoscope of Ashish. It’s pure camp -  as if Samantha Jones has been cloned and let loose in a sequinned hall of mirrors.

Dan Finley, CEO of Debenhams Group, said: "Designers at Debenhams was more than a range, it was a retail movement. It broke down barriers between luxury and the high street. Bringing it back isn’t just about nostalgia; it’s about re-engineering the DNA that made it iconic for the way people shop, live and dress now."

Ashish added: "Kim is an icon, and I couldn’t think of anyone better. Her humour, wit and style make her extraordinary. This collection is about joy, and owning your presence - working with her was a delight."

In the age of reboots, rebrands and reinventions, Kim Cattrall is the ultimate wink to the past while still being catnip for the present. The OG is back, and she’s armed with sequins.

The AW25 collection lands exclusively on Debenhams.com on 9 October, with prices starting at £59. If Debenhams gets its way, this won’t just be a comeback, it’ll be a re-crowning.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of Ashish’s SS26 London Fashion Week show, otherwise known as a dance party of colour, joy and unstoppable movement. Sequins, rainbow faux furs and psychedelic prints shook 180 The Strand and five exclusive Debenhams pieces were already shimmering down that runway. Read more here.
