Designers at Debenhams adds new Studio by Preen line

Debenhams has added the new Studio by Preen to its "Designers at" line-up, which builds up upon the Preen/Edition line the department store has been stocking for the past six years.

The Designers at stable consists of more established household-name designers, such as John Rocha and Matthew Williamson, while the /Edition collections are focused on new and emerging names. Moving to the Designers at stable enables the brand to  "offer a wider selection of garments, to tell a fuller trend story" according to the label's co-founder Justin Thornton.

Studio by Preen comprises 48 pieces and features plenty of trend-led items for SS17 including statement knits, volume-sleeved shirts and plenty of gingham, which is employed on a ruffled skirt, a shirt and a trench coat. Printed dresses, which are a Preen signature, are also strong features.

Prices start from £39 for a cropped top moving up to £99 for the gingham trench and it is already available to buy on the Debenhams website. It will be rolled out to 30 stores and three international markets this month.

Preen's main line, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, is shown at London Fashion Week and stocked by multi-brand high end retailers such as a Matchesfashion.com, Net-A-Porter.com and Harvey Nichols. It was launched in 1996 by husband and wife team Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi and has gone on to become a favourite of high profile women such as Samantha Cameron, Michelle Obama and the Duchess of Cambridge. A more contemporary range, Preen Line, was introduced in 2008.
